Customer Spotlight: Best Electric & Air

For over 30 years, Best Electric & Air has proudly provided commercial and residential air conditioning and electrical services across Southwest Florida. They have built a reputation of providing exceptional customer service adhering to their motto “do unto others as you would want others to do unto you”.

When they first started off, Best Electric’s growth led to the need to quickly replace manual back office processes with new automated ones. The company tried several dispatching software suites but none had both great dispatching features AND trusted accounting services. When their accountant strongly urged Best to implement a proven reliable accounting software, such as QuickBooks, the team needed to find a robust dispatching software that could fully integrate with their new accounting package.

While evaluating every dispatching solution on the market, Best Electric heard that dESCO was going to start offering a windows-based dispatching software package, called ESC. “At the time we had just hired a new CSR that came from a company using Successware, one of the software solutions we were evaluating,” recalls Marilyn Hodges, Co-Owner of Best Electric. “She was very unhappy with its performance and flaws. She had seen a demo of ESC and recommended it to us as the best solution available.” In 1999, Best became one of the first users of ESC service management software.

“ESC provides us with the most advanced features and incorporates the latest technology devices so we are always on the cutting-edge of things,” says Marilyn. “The dispatching module makes it easy to schedule calls and the system, as a whole, does everything we need it to do. It also completely integrates with QuickBooks which ensures our accounting accuracy.”

Since implementing ESC, Best Electric has also added ESC Mobile, mapping and SageQuest services. “ESC provides a cost-effective way to run our business,” states Marilyn. “Having our techs invoicing in the field through ESC Mobile, will save us a lot of office time and has enabled us not to have to hire another accounting clerk to keep up with the demand.”

Best Electric has recently begun using the color-coded dispatch feature to delineate what dispatches are for new customers, bad customers, off-jobs, etc. They also have created several dispatch board views to separate their installer techs, service techs, and more. These features have really helped them organize their dispatch board and scheduling process.

“I love the ESC support team,” added Marilyn. “They are really helpful and patient when answering our questions. I also love the monthly eNewsletter as it is really nice to be able to read about features or be directed to new training tutorial videos to learn more about ESC on my own time.”

As a customer service oriented company, Best says they always recommend ESC to anyone as “the best solution out there”.
